Gender Equality
Ensuring gender equality is a priority of the doctoral program. This is reflected on three levels: firstly, by ensuring and enhancing an appropriate representation of women among the faculty members, secondly, in terms of research interests and other engagement of faculty members, and thirdly, by the selection of PhD students. The share of women among past and current participants in the doctoral program is higher than 65%. More than half (54%), or seven of 13 members, of the core faculty is currently composed of women, significantly higher than the recommended lower limit defined by FWF (30%). The composition of the faculty is not expected to remain static throughout the duration of the program. When filling a faculty position, there is a clear commitment to increasing the share of women, in line with the selection criteria for faculty members. While the positions of speaker and co-speaker are currently men, the FMs have agreed to rotate the speakers after two years to include at least one woman.
